Brahmavihara Retreat - Sarnath, India

  • Mahabodhi Society of India Varanasi, UP India (map)

This 10-day retreat, led by Delson Armstrong, will be held at the Mahabodhi Center in Sarnath, India, just a stone’s throw away from the original site of the Buddha’s first discourse.

Rooted in the original Theravada suttas of the Pali Canon, this retreat deeply explores and applies the core components of the Buddha’s teachings, including the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, the jhanas, dependent origination, and awakening.

Over the course of the retreat, participants will be led on an inner journey to enter supramundane states of mind, learning to let go of afflictive and unskillful behavioral patterns and to experience profound states of tranquility and insight.

There will be daily dhamma talks in the evening, and 1:1 guidance from Delson, who will provide personalized instructions every day.

Open to all practitioners.

Please note that Delson will interview you after registration to assess your eligibility for the retreat. Make your travel plans after he approves.
